Insurance

I am an “in network provider” with Lyra. Other than Lyra, I am an “out of network” provider with all other insurance plans. Although I am “out of network,” your insurance may still cover a portion of our sessions if you have any “out of network benefits” for mental health. Many plans have out of network benefits that may cover 75 or 80% of the cost of each session. The key is to call your insurance company (typically through a customer service number on the back of your insurance card) and ask about your specific benefits. Here are some questions I recommend asking:

  • What are my benefits for mental health treatment?

  • Do I have any out of network benefits?

  • What percentage of the cost will I be reimbursed for?

  • What is the process of submitting for reimbursement?

  • Do I have a deductible?

You can also typically use your FSA or HSA funds to pay for psychotherapy. Check with your specific FSA/HSA provider to confirm.

Confused by insurance or frustrated by this whole process? I will discuss your specific situation with you in our initial consultation and guide you to the best of my ability. If it is not going to work out with me as your provider for any reason, I’m happy to provide referrals to others that may be a better fit.
